Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to apply for a Substance Use Worker post to work within a unique and innovative team -YCSMAS (Youth Counselling, Substance Misuse and Alcohol Service). YCSMAS sits within Young Islington, an HMIP assessed outstanding Local Authority. You will be:

  • leading on work with Schools, Alternative Provisions and Transitions
  • providingsubstance use support, education sessions, and outreach services to young people aged 12 to 21 years
  • providing drug awareness training to professionals, parents and carers, residents
  • working alongside Targeted Youth Support (TYS), Islington Youth Justice Service (YJS) and Islington Collaborative Action Network (I-CAN).

YCSMAS is an integrated team providing mental health support from the TYS Youth Counselling Service and substance use support from the Islington Young people’s Drug and Alcohol Service (IYPDAS) to over 200 young people per year.
