About the role: The candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical engineering design function for SPD projects. This includes overseeing the preparation, review, and approval of designs for High, Medium, and Low Voltage (HV, MV, LV) systems in compliance with applicable standards, consultant specifications, customer inputs, and project requirements. The role ensures the timely and efficient execution of design and engineering deliverables within the framework of a project. Key responsibilities: Leading the design and engineering function of AIS and GIS substations, switchyards, and distribution systems, as per IEC, IEEE, IS, and other relevant standards. Encouraging the adoption of best practices in all design and engineering work. Supporting project teams in preparation of technical bid documents. Interfacing with project management, procurement, and construction teams for design related inputs. Promoting safe design practices in accordance with safety-in-design principles and CEA guidelines. Candidate requirements: BE/BTech in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics from a reputed institution. Deep understanding of electrical systems such as switchgears, transformers, earthing, lightning protection, and control schemes. Proficiency in design tools- AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or equivalent. Understanding of SCADA, control, and protection panel design. Strong understanding of electrical systems: HV/MV/LV switchgear, transformers, CT/PTs, circuit breakers, relays, earthing, lightning protection, protection & control schemes. Knowledge of international and Indian codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, IS, CEA, CBIP). Good communication, both verbal and written, in English. Ability to work with multi-functional teams within an organization. Problem solving ability with adherence to tight timelines.
