Five years’ experience and experience with EXFO fiber equipment preferred. Must be willing to travel. Current fiber optic certifications preferred. Responsibilities Perform fiber tests with OTDR’s, light source and meters Terminate, splice, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to standards Perform installation of fiber optic equipment and patch and panels. Working knowledge of fiber optics Basic knowledge of networking Proficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipment Terminate, splice and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters Learn and adhere to all safety standards Must be able to read and understand blue prints, designs and work scopes 5 years previous experience Experience with the following equipment is a plus: Fusion splicer, mechanical splicer, OTDR, power meters, traffic identifiers, digital multi-meters, cleavers, strippers, buffer tube splitters, cable ring tools, hand tools, toners, duct rodders, ladders, bucket trucks, etc. is preferred.
