SUMMARY

The Substations Construction Manager creates an environment for construction execution excellence. They are responsible for organizing the day-to-day activities of the field staff in an efficient and safe manner. They are constantly looking for opportunities to improve the delivery and customer experience of substation construction projects. The Substations Construction Manager is also a subject matter expert and thus responsible for the mentoring, coaching, career development, and training of all field staff. The Substations Construction Manager needs to work closely with project management to ensure all projects are profitable and delivered on time. Directly reports into the Director of Construction, Ontario.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician designation.
  • Formal construction management training from a recognized technical institute considered an asset.
  • PMI certification considered an asset.
  • 15+ years of substation construction experience.
  • 10+ years of people management, mentoring and leadership experience.
  • Extensive and broad high voltage construction experience.

SKILLS

  • Advanced level of substation construction execution and planning
  • Detailed knowledge of the Ontario electrical code, and regulations.
  • General knowledge of provincial networks across Eastern Canada.
  • Superior construction execution planning skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor field staff.
  • Comfortable and proficient with computer software such as excel, MPP and word.
