Job Details Job Location: Cannon School - Concord, NC 28027 Position Type: Per Diem A substitute at Cannon School is responsible for filling the teaching needs of a faculty member while they are out of the classroom. This position is required to work with students and the faculty of Cannon. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure curriculum that the faculty member has left is taught to students Ensure the safety of the students in the classroom Ensure core values of Cannon School are enforced Ensure classroom rules are enforced Report classroom attendance to School Administration Responsible for leaving classroom neat and clean and respecting teacher’s belongings Qualifications YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Prior teaching experience required EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelors degree preferred JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to adapt to various classroom settings Ability to communicate with students, teachers and other faculty in a courteous and respectful manner Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities Effective problem solving and analytical ability Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong organizational skills Ability to use automated substitute program, Aesop Ability to meet deadlines Ability to work in a team environment Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force. Work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting. Work has standard vision requirements. Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Responsibilities
The substitute is responsible for teaching the curriculum left by the faculty member and ensuring the safety and adherence to classroom rules. They must also report attendance and maintain a clean classroom environment.
