Description Substitute Early Childhood Teacher We are seeking Substitute Early Childhood Teachers who are compassionate, flexible, and ready to step in when needed to support our teaching team. In this important role, you’ll help provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children ages 6 months to 6 years old. Whether you’re an experienced educator or just beginning your journey in early childhood education, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience, make meaningful connections, and contribute to a mission-driven team. The Substitute Teacher position provides flexibility for both the employee and the organization. Substitute Teachers are not scheduled for regular hours but are available to work as needed, often to cover staff absences, vacations, training days, or periods of high demand. When you’re on-call, you may be contacted with little notice to fill in for a shift or assist in a classroom. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week depending on program needs. This position is ideal for individuals who: Want a flexible schedule Enjoy variety in their work Are comfortable stepping into different classrooms or roles as needed Have a passion for supporting children and helping the team succeed Substitutes are an important part of the Starpoint team, ensuring consistent, high-quality care and education for the children we serve. Requirements Responsibilities Be on call to fill teacher absences Support daily classroom routines and activities Create a positive and engaging environment for children Follow lesson plans and provide consistent care and supervision Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED Experience working with children in a child care, daycare, or preschool setting is preferred CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is a plus Registered with the Colorado Shines Program at a minimum Level 2 on PDIS preferred Must successfully pass background checks and a drug screening If you have a heart for helping young children learn and grow, we’d love to have you as part of our team!
Responsibilities
