ABOUT THE CALGARY JEWISH ACADEMY (CJA):

The Calgary Jewish Academy (CJA) has a proud legacy of over a century in shaping students who contribute to the future of Calgary, Canada, and beyond. Established in 1987 through the merger of the Calgary Hebrew School (1912) and the I.L. Peretz School (1927), CJA serves students from Nursery to Grade 9 in a safe, supportive, and challenging environment. The school fosters Jewish identity and community while delivering a rigorous dual curriculum that integrates the Alberta Curriculum with Judaic Studies.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

CJA is seeking qualified, dynamic, and adaptable substitute teachers to support classroom instruction across all grade levels (Kindergarten to Grade 9) for the 2025–2026 school year. The role provides an opportunity to engage with students, implement lessons, and contribute to the school’s collaborative and values-driven environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate – Interim or Permanent.
  • Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent experience recognized by Alberta Education.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
  • Commitment to professional development and the vision and mission of CJA.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
