Child Care of the Berkshires is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Substitute Teacher to join our team at Magic Seasons (Adams, MA) and Monument Square locations (North Adams, MA)! Position Summary Provides instructional and classroom support in an early childhood education setting by assisting with lesson implementation, supervising children, fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment, and promoting students' social, emotional, and cognitive development. Collaborates with the lead teacher to support daily classroom routines and encourage positive learning experiences. Requirements Must have High school degree (or equivalent) and be 18 years of age. Prefer previous experience in early childhood setting. Prefer certificate in First Aid and CPR. Must demonstrate dependability, maturity and flexibility. Must be in good health, free of contagious diseases and have record of up-to-date immunization. Must demonstrate nurturing skills with children, cooperativeness with adults and commitment to professional development. Must be able to maintain confidentiality while supporting the overall mission, values, and goals of Child Care of the Berkshires. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to provide documentation of good physical and mental health, freedom from communicable diseases and tuberculosis, and evidence of up-to-date immunizations. Must have good physical health to meet demands of teaching: ability to walk, stand, sit, stoop, and lift and carry children weighing up to 50 lbs.; ability to move quickly, maintain visual contact with broad area, and get up and down from the floor, and engage in a variety of physical activities with the children. Must be mature and have good mental health in order to meet the mental demands of teaching. WORK SCHEDULE AND YEAR: Substitutes for North Adams and Adams child care center will be scheduled as an on call basis. SALARY: Starting wage is $18.59/hour, commensurate with experience.
