For permanent employment OHB System AG in Bremen is looking for a
Subsystem Engineer Propulsion (m/f/d)
OHB System needs support for its Propulsion system engineering department. We provide propulsion expertise in engineering, analysis and testing to OHB’s satellite projects. The position is not limited to either Chemical or Electrical Propulsion expertise, as both technologies are provided in the department. Your Tasks

  • Propulsion Systems engineer for the development of new propulsion systems, typically in the frame of new ESA satellite projects.
  • As part of the satellite team, represent the overall propulsion subsystem design, development and qualification to satisfy system/mission requirements and cost and schedule needs
  • Coordination of system interfaces and representing the propulsion subsystem in the satellite system (mechanical, avionics but also operational and software I/Fs)
  • Perform analyses coordinate with colleagues to support sizing and design of the subsystem
  • Definition of the verification philosophy on subsystem and component levels, including test definitions for platform testing
  • Technical management of procurement activities for subsystem and equipment from suppliers, with support by the procurement organization within OHB System
  • Generation of technical documentation, e.g. specifications, trades, analyses, reports
  • Lead and align with parallel technology and process developments
  • Planning and coordination of MAIT activities, and support those
  • Support of flight operations by developing flight procedures and support in LEOP (Launch and Early Operation Phases)
  • Support proposal activities

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in aerospace engineering, physics or comparable qualification with strong focus on propulsion systems
  • Ideally some years of professional experience in space industry in the propulsion domain, been involved at equipment, subsystem or system level for propulsion systems
  • Systems Engineering Mindset
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills
  • Accustomed to work in teams with well-developed communication skills
  • Experience in Requirements Engineering
  • AIT experience would be of advantage
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, German language skills are advantageous
