Description
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly motivated Subsystems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and test of advanced aircraft systems within the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program. This position plays a critical role in ensuring subsystem performance, airworthiness, and mission readiness across multiple disciplines, including hydraulics, environmental control, fuel, fire protection, landing gear, mechanical mechanisms, and electrical power systems. Responsibilities: Support Subsystems Engineering activities throughout the full lifecycle of the CCA weapon system — from concept development to production and sustainment. Provide technical evaluation of contractor subsystem development plans, test procedures, test reports, and engineering change proposals. Advise government subsystem engineers on lessons learned, best practices, and technical risk areas to guide sound engineering decisions. Assess design and production approaches for value, feasibility, and technical risk; develop and execute risk mitigation strategies. Conduct and participate in technical reviews, test readiness reviews, and design reviews to ensure design adequacy and performance compliance. Ensure adherence to Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) and Airworthiness processes throughout the system lifecycle. Support subsystem testing, analyze test results, and drive resolution of deficiency reports. Prepare and deliver technical briefings and documentation to senior government and industry leadership. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (Master’s preferred). 10+ years of relevant experience in aircraft subsystem design, integration, and testing. Strong background in one or more subsystem domains (e.g., hydraulic, fuel, ECS, landing gear, power systems). Experience with military aircraft development programs and familiarity with DoD acquisition and airworthiness processes. Demonstrated ability to evaluate engineering design data, test reports, and contractor deliverables. Excellent communication and briefing skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to senior audiences. Active DoD Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred). U.S. citizenship required. #LI-CH1 #LI-Onsite #Dragons #Skyline
