GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Success Coach builds relationships with students and their families enrolled on the Youth FORCE Program and provides resources to remove barriers impacting their educational progress. An effective Success Coach understands how to manage their core responsibilities being responsive to student crisis’s as they arise while understanding how to create intervention plans and promote student academic success through collaboration, communication, and innovative solutions that are student focused. The Success Coach should possess a strong organizational mindset, for urgent follow-up and case notes.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience: Optimally will possess at least a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, youth development, or a related field from an accredited university, and possess a minimum of one (1) year experience in a full-time Case Manager position. Years of experience in a substantially similar position may be considered.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of youth development, trauma, behavioral challenges, mental wellness, and social emotional learning needs of youth.
  • Ability to utilize independent judgement and take initiative within BGCBC policies and procedures as well as the scope of the position.
  • Experience designing and implementing engaging developmental/age appropriate SEL, mental wellness, and resiliency activities/programs.
  • Proficient in using Office software and technology as a means of instruction and communication.
  • Knowledge of youth and adult learning styles as well as best practices for coaching and providing feedback.
  • Integrates organizational values of fun, respect, integrity, community, and acceptance into programmatic and training content.
  • Proven ability to motivate youth and staff, manage behavior problems, and act with sensitivity and empathy.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation.
  • A safe driving record is required and must be maintained.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

High energy level required. Must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities; must possess superior interpersonal abilities; and the ability to always get along with diverse personalities displaying tact, maturity, flexibility and professionalism. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment are also required. Successfully communicate through speaking, writing and reading with comprehension. Manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines

Responsibilities

Acts as first point of contact for our Youth FORCE Program families.

  • Oversees the Case Management for the Youth FORCE grant.
  • Manages caseload of members enrolled in the program.
  • Completes weekly and monthly reports including but not limited to Case Notes, Attendance, Billing, and Recruitment & Retention Reports.
  • Maintains and monitor files, case notes and progress of the families.
  • Coordinate meetings and orientations for our families to ensure a successful Youth FORCE program.
  • Develops a positive atmosphere among the families toward achieving long term goals.
  • Facilitate Performance Measures, including but not limited to Intake Assessments and Reassessments.
  • Maintains discipline and adherence to BGCBC rules.
  • Assists with programming planning when necessary.
  • Provides Social Emotional Learning support to students to promote positive attitudes.
  • Assist with making recommendations and referrals.
