JOB OVERVIEW
At Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust we are committed to the prevention and reduction of suicide and self-harm in our local communities. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner to work in a role which leads the Trusts approach to suicide and self-harm prevention at clinical, organisational and strategic levels.
You will represent the Trust in all local partnership arrangements to ensure that primary and secondary mental health services are active partner in the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR)system-wide strategy for suicide prevention.
The role requires development of a high-level, expert knowledge of policy, evidence, and best-practice guidance around suicide and self harm prevention intervention and postvention. you must be able to provide expert strategic and clinical guidance to clinical staff, directorate teams and the Trust Board.
In conjunction with key stakeholders including service users and experts by experience, carers and/or significant others, be responsible for developing policy and practice in line with the principles of harm reduction and a strong safety culture. you will advise the Trust and lead the development of interdisciplinary training, learning and practice development and quality improvement in relation to suicide and self harm management, prevention, intervention and postvention.
