Job Title: Cook: Intermediate Job Status: Seasonal Compensation and Benefits: Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $20.00 to $22.80+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. Job Summary: The Intermediate Cook supports daily kitchen operations by preparing high quality food, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and contributing to a positive team environment. This role is ideal for candidates with solid culinary skills who enjoy working in a fast-paced setting and take pride in consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail. Intermediate Cooks assist with food preparation, station setup, service execution, and general kitchen cleanliness to ensure an excellent experience for guests and smooth back-of-house operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Execute assigned station with speed, accuracy, and a high level of cleanliness, ensuring readiness for each service period. Follow prep lists, production schedules, and par levels while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and efficiency. Prepare food according to established recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency in flavor, portioning, and presentation. Maintain proper station setup and organization, including accurate labeling, dating, rotation, and adherence to food‑safety standards. Monitor and manage station inventory throughout service, minimizing waste, and ensuring product quality at all times. Communicate effectively with the culinary team, maintaining situational awareness, and supporting smooth kitchen operations. Assist with prep and production tasks as needed, supporting teammates during peak periods or when directed by the Chef or Supervisor. Engage with guests professionally when applicable, providing a positive and knowledgeable culinary presence. Perform dishwashing duties as required, including operation of dish machines, manual pot‑washing, sorting, and maintaining a clean/safe dish area. Ensure all wares, utensils, equipment, and cookware are properly cleaned, sanitized, dried, and stored in accordance with health‑department standards. Support overall kitchen sanitation, including trash removal, sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, and maintaining a safe work environment. Assist in cross‑functional operations, including training new staff and supporting front‑of‑house teamwork when requested. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all shared workspaces and public‑facing areas as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or Supervisor, adapting to business needs, and maintaining operational flexibility. Preferred Experience and Special Skills: Strong skills in applicable cooking techniques and industry best practices. Ability to work multiple stations, complete prep lists efficiently, and meet service timelines. Strong knife skills and the ability to fabricate items to standard.
