Note: Applicants must be current NCCU Law students. Position Description: Public Knowledge is seeking North Carolina Central University School of Law legal advocacy interns for Summer 2026. Applicants must be current law students and must have a strong interest in the policy making process -- the U.S. Congress, the executive branch, and agencies such as the FCC. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in public interest (non-profit) technology policy, including issues arising under internet, telecommunications, copyright, patent, privacy, and international law. (A demonstrated interest can be a strong personal interest, such as following tech policy issues, or a more formal demonstration of interest, such as coursework or an internship.) The NCCU internship lasts eight weeks with a stipend of $ $10,000 for an in-person student or $6,000 for a remote student. In-person is preferred but remote can be accommodated. Internships must begin no earlier than May 18 and conclude by July 31. NCCU students are eligible to seek academic credit for the internship. The deadline for applications is March 15, 2026. Organization Description: Public Knowledge is a nonprofit technology policy organization that promotes freedom of expression, an open internet, and access to affordable communications tools and creative works. PK’s modes of advocacy include outreach to the U.S. Congress, the executive branch, and administrative agencies, filing administrative comments, submitting amicus briefs, hosting public education events, building coalitions, and writing white papers and blog posts. Responsibilities
