Fidelity’s Equity division is responsible for managing diversified and industry-specific funds for millions of investors. The division consists of portfolio managers, research analysts, research associates, sector specialists, and traders who work together to deliver exceptional investment outcomes. The Role Looking for a best-in-class opportunity to obtain hands-on experience with fundamental analysis and the investment research process? The Equity Research Associate internship program gives interns the chance to obtain and develop the core research skills needed to jumpstart a successful and lucrative career in investment management. The program is led by our director of research, and each intern will be paired with a peer in the research department who will mentor them throughout the summer. Throughout the 10-week program, interns will support real investment decisions by: Conducting autonomous research on three stocks across different sub-sectors. Building financial models, completing financial analysis, and conducting proprietary research. Communicating with corporate management teams, industry experts, and Wall Street analysts, to develop investment recommendations for our funds. Collaborating with fellow interns and utilizing the vast network of Fidelity managing directors of research, analysts and portfolio managers. Pitching stock recommendations to internal portfolio managers. Education and Experience Class of 2028 Bachelor’s degree candidates Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proactive, seeks additional responsibilities and learning opportunities Proven success during his/her academic career with a preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher Strong analytical and quantitative skills Demonstrated expertise using Excel Highly motivated independent problem solvers, ability to think outside of the box and bring a unique perspective High levels of integrity Demonstrated initiative and intellectual interest in studies/extracurricular activities related to the financial markets Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints Training Emphasis on hands-on training from Research Analysts directly related to intern projects Opportunity for training in conjunction with investment interns in Equity, High Income, and Strategic Advisers investment divisions at Fidelity Mentorship from senior research analysts and associates Exposure to Portfolio Managers and investment thought leaders Conversion Successful interns may receive an offer at the end of the summer internship to return as a full-time Research Associate post-graduation.
