Position Summary: The Summer at Laurel Instructor operates on Laurel’s Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights and Butler Campus in Novelty. Summer camp operates Monday through Friday 9:00-4:00 from June 8- July 31st in one and two week sessions. The Summer at Laurel program is a co-ed program which serves students from 2 years through rising 8th grade. Summer at Laurel instructors work closely with the Camp Coordinators to ensure a safe, nurturing, fun and efficient Summer program. *This is a seasonal position that requires at least a two week commitment. Duties and responsibilities include: Monitor students in the camp group they are assigned to and provide a safe and fun experience for all campers. Change diapers and assist in toilet training, as needed. When transporting campers from one location to another, always ensure all campers are accounted for before departing and after arrival Consistently enforce policies and procedures Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers Lead group activities, such as crafts, field trips, special events, and outdoor activities. Encourage hygienic practices, such as handwashing, and assist in clean-up. Be in attendance Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:00 p.m. daily. Assist in other duties as assigned. Requirements The successful candidate must have experience in working with children. Candidates currently or previously employed as a teacher are highly desirable. Must be First Aid/CPR certified or willing to get certified.
Responsibilities
The Summer at Laurel Instructor is responsible for monitoring students in their assigned camp group and ensuring a safe and fun experience for all campers. They will lead group activities and assist with various duties as assigned.
