JOB SUMMARY Under direct supervision, provides guidance, supervision and leadership to children participating in the Muckleshoot Summer Camp Program. MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list is intended only to illustrate the various types of work that may be performed. Lead children from grades 1 through 12 or 18 years old in indoor and outdoor activities. Expected to participate in daily group activities. Support youth and staff during offsite field trips. Assist staff and youth with meal preparation and distribution Provide leadership and guidance for children, ensuring their safety in all camp activities. Communicate with parents/guardians regarding the respective child’s camp activities. Complete attendance and all other reports as required by the camp supervisor or camp coordinator. Participate in any pre-camp staff training. May also serve as bus aides. Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities. EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Food Handler’s card (may be obtained after employment). SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION Knowledge of: Understanding “No Touch Supervision”. Ability to: Work well with children. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet. Licenses or Certifications Required A valid Washington State driver’s license is required at time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.
