SUMMER CAMP COORDINATOR (F/M/D)

Project/Contract date: June 2025 – July 2025
Salary: EUR 5,000 per month plus Bonus
Conditions: EU Citizenship / Work Permit for Austria
AMADEUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL VIENNA is a vibrant, unique and dynamic IB World School (EY, PYP, MYP,
DP & CP) located in heritage listed buildings on a beautiful campus in Vienna. We strive to create a strong
sense of community, which allows students to discover their talents during the education process. With a
strong commitment to creativity and performance throughout the school, AMADEUS has a dedicated
Academy of Music and the Arts. Our excellent boarding facilities host students from around the world as part
of a school community of more than 50 nationalities.
AMADEUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL VIENNA is creating a Summer Camp experience (Day Camp and
Overnight Camp) for campers, aged 5-18 from around the world, with a focus on language, music and
activities. The camp runs from the 30. June 2025 until 26. July 2025.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • Proven work experience in leading activities
  • Knowledge of risk assessment
  • Previous experience in a school context
  • Previous experience in residential contexts
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Resilience and flexibility
  • Polite, friendly and well organized
  • Valid residency and work permit for Austria or EU citizen

Desirable:

  • Teaching experience
  • Additional languages (especially German)
  • Full clean driving licence and valid driver’s license for Austria
  • Additional training in Safeguarding and/or First Aid
  • Great sense of humour
Responsibilities

Administration:

  • Administer the Summer Camp within the budget
  • Search for and coordinate weekly workshops (maximum 4) in art and/or music with

artists/musicians of recognized prestige in Vienna to complement the Summer Camp’s

programme in these fields

  • Communicate to parents and families in the lead up, during, and after the camp
  • Maintain accurate records of all student and staff management
  • Schedule Summer Camp staff appropriately in number for safety and learning
  • Ensure for the smooth administration of the Summer Camp with our external partners
  • Ensure that all relevant health and safety policies are known and complied with
  • Keep accurate attendance and roll call records
  • Support the recruiting, train and induct staff
  • Report any damages to property
  • Facilitate and analyse post-camp data collection and feedback from parents
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and cleaning teams to ensure all facilities are in best order
  • Oversee all transfers
  • Keep all receipts and financial records

Pastoral Care:

  • Monitor carefully the health and wellbeing of all summer camp students
  • Coordinate with medical professionals as necessary and appropriate
  • Oversee the residential program and the work of the staff facilitating it
  • Ensure high standards of behaviour and expectations in summer campers
  • Reside within the boarding facility for the duration of the camp
  • Promote a culture of safety, fun, respect, and international mindedness

Teaching and Learning:

  • Monitor the quality of the teaching and learning occurring within the camp context
  • Plan and implement positive and exciting camp experiences for campers
  • Ensure that students are grouped correctly to maximize language learning and fun
  • Facilitate large and small groups trips and visits within Vienna and beyond
