Description Avery Coonley School is seeking summer camp counselors to facilitate an enriching experience for students from pre–school to eighth grade during a six-week Summer Program from June 11 to July 24, 2026. $3720.00. Prorated if working less than the entire summer. June 19th and July 3rd are recognized holidays. This is a seasonal employment position only. Requirements Responsibilities: Develop a daily activities plan with flexibility to accommodate weather and schedule changes. Submit daily reports to the Director of Recreation on the activities plan, including any concerns and questions, proposing resolutions. Provide active supervision of all students during morning recreation, ensuring students are actively engaged at all times. Assist with the arrival and dismissal of students, monitoring traffic and safety concerns. Escort students from class to class and swim lessons efficiently and safely for a timely start to lessons. Develop and execute plans for engagement for afternoon recreation. Report class schedule questions to the Director of Registration, noting misassignments and revisions needed. Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all students, providing basic first aid as needed. Deliver, supervise, and clean up students’ catered lunches, making sure that students have eaten while being aware of dietary restrictions. Qualifications: High School Graduate Experience working with children of all ages, Preschool – 8th Grade preferred Available for all six weeks plus two days of required training. (June 11th- July 24th) Flexible, able to think creatively, and adapt quickly A team player who serves as a positive role model for students by demonstrating enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
Counselors are responsible for developing and executing daily activity plans, submitting reports to the Director of Recreation, and actively supervising students during all activities, including recreation and transitions to swim lessons. They must also ensure student safety, provide basic first aid, and manage catered lunches while being mindful of dietary restrictions.
