Healthy Kids Programs is seeking Summer Camp Directors to guide campers through a summer filled with fun, friendship, and unforgettable adventures. This is your chance to lead, inspire, and create lifelong memories for children while being part of a supportive, award-winning team. Schedule: Pre-summer: Up to 3 hours per week, increasing to up to 6 hours per week beginning in May Summer: Monday–Friday, shifts between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM Potential to continue beyond summer with different hours Dates: May 25 – June 26, 2026 Status: Part-time, non-exempt Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience Key Responsibilities Plan and lead daily camp activities, games, hands-on projects, and special events, including arts & crafts and themed activities Create a positive, inclusive environment where campers feel supported, encouraged, and engaged Supervise, train, and support camp staff, including implementing the curriculum to ensure high-quality program delivery Ensure camper safety and follow all state guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and host school policies Communicate daily with families using the Playground App and provide support during parent orientations Support community outreach to promote the program and engage prospective families Lead by example with enthusiasm, positivity, and a can-do attitude Requirements Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age Must meet one Virginia-approved education and experience pathway: Graduate degree in a child-related field with 6+ months programmatic experience Bachelor’s degree or endorsement in a child-related field with 1+ year programmatic experience 48 semester hours (or 72 quarter hours) including 12 semester hours (or 18 quarter hours) in child-related subjects plus 1 year programmatic experience 2 years programmatic experience including 1 year in a supervisory role plus an early childhood certificate, CDA credential, or recognized Montessori certification At least 6 months of experience supervising, orienting, training, and scheduling staff, or completion of approved management training or coursework Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred Must successfully complete all applicable background screenings in accordance with Virginia state regulations About Healthy Kids Programs Healthy Kids Programs is more than a childcare provider.
