Description Summer Camp at Stevens Cooperative School is looking for Head Camp teachers depending on skills and experience. We are looking for a professional who is energetic, has a positive attitude, and is a self-starter. They are passionate about working with children, have developed communication skills, and are committed to teaching and learning. It is important for candidates to be open to receiving feedback from camp administrators. Working well with others in a small community and instilling confidence in the program with parents is required. RESPONSIBILITIES Lesson plan for a week long enrichment camp Work closely with associate teachers to carry out curriculum and collaborate on all classroom duties. Support camp themed activities while being responsive to campers’ social and emotional needs. Interact with students to promote play, exploration, and learning. Communicate openly and professionally with colleagues and parents around student issues and needs. Maintain the health and safety of all campers, supervision on off-site trips to venues and playgrounds, actively particpating in swim activities, monitoring campers for illness to be communicated with camp administrators and nurses, etc. Attend weekly staff meetings. Participate in the life of the school and be responsible for other duties as assigned by the camp administration Requirements Undergraduate degree required Experience Teaching Excellent character Ability to motivate and stimulate children's learning abilities through a range of experiences Ability to cultivate and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom culture that values various perspectives Experience in creating a safe environment for students to ask questions, take risks, problem solve and communicate their thinking. Flexibility and resourcefulness Experience planning lessons TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT 1 Staff orientation meeting May 16th, 8:30am - 4:00pm 9 weeks (June 15 - August 14, 2026, nine weeks of availability preferred but all not required)
Responsibilities
