We have immediate openings for reliable temporary summer Carpenters/General Construction Laborers to support project sites in and around Mankato and St. Peter, Minnesota. This role will assist with general jobsite support, including jobsite cleanup, material handling, light carpentry and demolition work, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and assisting the superintendent with day-to-day jobsite tasks. Hours and Schedule Summer 2026, Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm based on business operations Ability to travel within 60 miles radius, occasionally travel will be greater than 60 miles Reports To: Field Operations Manager Pay: Hourly: $18-24 Non-Exempt, based on experience Positions Supervised: N/A Benefits: This is a temporary summer position and is not eligible for regular company benefits. Temporary employees will receive benefits as required by applicable state and federal law, including Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) and Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), as applicable. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Jobsite cleanup Maintaining safety Light carpentry/demo work Material handling Assisting the superintendent with general jobsite tasks Other duties as assigned Learn more about us here: https://apxconstructiongroup.com/careers/ Requirements Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent Must be 18 years old for safety compliance Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Some knowledge of construction-related equipment and sound demonstrated use preferred. Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn Ability to work outdoors and perform physical jobsite tasks Prior construction, shop, farm, or carpentry experience is helpful but not required Good team work and collaboration effort. Problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds on a frequent basis and up to one-hundred pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically-powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment. The ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and to work at heights from ladders or scaffolding, in order to perform construction-related work is required. Environment Exposure The role involves working with machinery and electricity, as well as impact and power tools. While the job does not expose the worker to fumes or chemicals, it does involve exposure to dust, heat, and cold. The work environment is both indoors and outdoors, and the worker may be required to work at heights. Noise is also a factor in the working conditions.
