Job Title: Summer St. Olaf Dive Camp Counselor (WS-NST-E) Classification: Student Employee (non-exempt) Name and Address of Employer: St. Olaf College, 1520 St. Olaf Ave, Northfield, MN 55057 If the position requires the student to work off campus, provide the name and address here: Department Name:  College Events – St. Olaf Dive Camp Cost Center and Activity: 13503-13469 Length of Position: July 12-16, 2026 Contact Person/Supervisor:  Diving Coach Wage Range: $18.75 / hour Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):  The Dive Camp Counselor role supports all aspects of camp including supervision, instructional support, coaching, recreational activities, and camp operations. Transferable Skills:  1. Analytical skills  2. Youth leadership  3. Verbal communication  Duties and Responsibilities:  * Support camper check-in and check-out: welcoming families and assisting with College Events as needed. * Wake campers each morning; conduct room checks each evening.  * Provide sport-specific instruction and training under the direction of the head coach.  * Organize and/or assist with daily activities. * Provide supervision of campers at assigned activities, both instructional and recreational, for the duration of the camp session(s). * Be onsite and reachable throughout the duration of camp (and on campus during overnight hours).  * Apply basic youth development principles in working with students through inclusivity, communication, relationship development, and respect. * Be aware of and implement all safety guidelines. Follow and uphold all security rules and procedures. * Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers. * Interact with people from a diversity of backgrounds and experience. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)  Applicants should have a background in competitive diving and working with youth. Physical and Environmental Factors: This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs., and repetitive motions to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, chemicals, wet or humid conditions indoors, proximity hazards, and heights or cramped quarters to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
