As the Summer Food Service Coordinator, you’ll be at the core of meal preparation efforts, taking the lead in planning, cooking, and organizing daily meals. Your responsibilities will include managing inventory, sourcing and purchasing ingredients, and ensuring meals meet quality and nutritional standards. While you may work with some volunteers, the focus of your role is hands-on food preparation—playing a vital part in providing consistent, nutritious meals that support the well-being of the entire community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift or move heavy grocery items

• Maintain a working knowledge of the regulations and policies governing the program.
• Shop, deliver, and put away weekly for food and supplies. Ensure that the Program Director receives the original order forms and receipts.
• Alert the Program Director to any site visits by NYSED or DOH staff or media.
• Alert the Program Director immediately of injuries or any emergency situations.
• Attend meal service daily. Assist volunteers with meal counting procedures to ensure accurate counts.
