Description Operations Utility Workers/Custodial Perform plant janitorial & custodian cleaning/housekeeping projects such as sweeping, mopping; washing windows; removing trash; and assist in cleaning floor drains. Responsible for keeping plant tour routes clean. Assist in preparing walls for painting, painting, & completing minor building maintenance repairs. Assist by completing pick up & deliveries from local communities. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be able to work in all areas of the plant. Frequent medium lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Must be able to run small electrical tools. Requires the ability to perform physical requirements of the job. Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions at a level normally acquired through a high school diploma. May also assist with work assignments in the other core groups. Other duties as assigned. Fuel System Perform a variety of duties to clean and maintain the plant site yard and grounds including lawn mowing, weed-eating, watering lawn, cleaning & watering trees, and picking up rocks & trash. Will be required to clean equipment & vehicles, clean shop floor drains, clean inside coal buildings, operate lawn sprinklers, & complete routine housekeeping tasks. Will be required to operate related tools and equipment. Frequent medium lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Must be able to work outdoors in variety of weather conditions. Must be able to work in a team environment. Requires the ability to perform physical requirements of the job. Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions at a level normally acquired through a high school diploma. May also assist with work assignments in the other core groups. Other duties as assigned. Requirements To be considered for a temporary, summer helper position at Coal Creek Station, applicants must meet the following criteria: Be 18 years of age before beginning employment in the program. Be enrolled as a full-time student in a post-secondary education or vocational program for fall semester. Meet minimum position requirements (i.e., education, skills, abilities, experience, etc.) Be able to complete the essential job functions (i.e., lifting, using tools, working in heat, etc.) Satisfactorily complete a physical exam and drug screening
Responsibilities
The Summer Helper will perform janitorial and custodial tasks, including cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs within the plant. They will also assist with yard maintenance and equipment cleaning.
