Description Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid – requires 2 days on-site; option to work in person or remote the other 3 days per week) Department: Asset Management Reports To: Vice President of Asset Management Internship Period: Internship will begin June 8 and end by mid-August. Position Summary Wesley Housing is seeking a motivated Summer Intern to support its Asset Management (AM) team through a blend of financial analysis, portfolio monitoring, and data/dashboard development. This role offers hands-on experience working with real estate performance data, financial reporting, and business intelligence tools, while contributing to improved decision-making across a portfolio of affordable housing communities. Eligible interns must be undergraduate students enrolled in a Virginia college or university. Wesley Housing is a proud participant in the InternshipsVA program. What You’ll Do Review the current Excel Asset Management Dashboard and identify opportunities to improve usability, consistency, and reporting value. Assist in updating dashboard formulas, layouts, and reporting formats to make information more accurate, accessible, and actionable. Collaborate with the Sr. Database Administrator and Asset Management staff to evaluate how tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau could enhance current dashboard reporting. Support the development of sample visualizations, report prototypes, or data models for future dashboard improvements. Conduct market research and benchmarking analysis Assist in updating dashboard formulas, layouts, and reporting formats to make information more accurate, accessible, and actionable. Develop or enhance data visualizations, reporting tools, dashboard prototypes and recommended processes to support long-term maintenance and consistency. Present recommendations and a final summer project summary to leadership at the end of the internship. Assist the Asset Management team with related summer projects and initiatives as needed.
