Description
Description Your Position on The Team: Project Luong is looking for an Architecture Summer Intern. This internship is not about endless menial administrative work or fetching coffee—though none of us are above admin duties or coffee runs. You will be an integral part of our team in Houston and will learn the real-world applications of your academic studies. You will participate in generating design and concept work while learning the ins and outs of how buildings come together. Our team regularly gathers around the studio to develop ideas—from whiteboard sketches to fully realized production documents—using tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Enscape. Throughout the summer, you will receive dedicated one-on-one mentorship from our principals and senior associates, who bring over 60 years of combined experience and are deeply invested in your growth and professional development. How You’ll Spend Your Summer: • Work with our team to design and produce documents for projects ranging from hospitality developments, community and commercial developments to municipal buildings and more. • Be exposed to our marketing department and help generate content for our social media platforms. • Create production documents in Revit to learn the craft of Architecture—from site plans to detailed drawings. • Participate in firm-wide learning activities to expand your knowledge of Architecture. •Take part in firm-wide teambuilding events. • Travel to and walk active construction sites to learn relevant field experience that is crucial to the design process once pencils are down. • Log critical design experience hours toward your NCARB licensure requirements. If this is your first year, we can help you get set up. Requirements What You Need to Have: • Be enrolled in and actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited program. • Have a working knowledge of the software required to create architectural drawings and models. • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and provide a portfolio of completed studio work. Notes: This is a paid, temporary (approx. 12 weeks) summer position with compensation between $14 and $20 per hour, based on current year of school. About Us: Project Luong is a multidisciplinary design firm of architects, landscape architects, interior designers, and administrators who work across a wide range of market sectors, including municipal, commercial, community, aviation, multi-family, single-family, higher education, and parking structures. We pride ourselves on creating unique, thoughtful solutions for the built environment - solutions that feel rooted in place and meaningfully connected to the cities and communities they serve. Through this internship, you will become part of our mission of Doing More. Our leadership is committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive workplace because our reputation and integrity depend not only on the quality of our work but also on how we treat our People. We invest in those we hire. If you are creative, hardworking, and eager to grow, we would love to talk with you about joining our team for the summer.
