An exciting Summer Internship opportunity awaits a motivated student at our Carseland site beginning May 2025 for a 4-month term. This is a temporary, full-time position is open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete. Carseland Nitrogen Operations is located approximately 30 minutes outside of Calgary. This position is not available for remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Support the management of change process by assisting with process design and documentation.
- Provide process engineering support to complete recommendations from process hazard analysis.
- Assist senior specialists in detailed technical evaluations such as catalyst, heat exchanger, and compressor performance.
- Provide process engineering support to capital project development and design.
- Complete level appropriate engineering studies, calculations, or modeling and simulation of chemical processes
- Provide technical support to automated process monitoring applications.
- Collect data and develop an electronic process information database.
- Work under the direction of a licensed professional engineer who will take responsibility for the work products.
- Complete basic technical reports, analysis, and transactions by applying subject matter knowledge related to a Chemical or Process engineering typical of a professional engineer.
- Some field time in an operating unit, and at times will require some climbing stairs, ladders and walking through plant operating areas.
- Travel, if required will likely be by car to various sites in Alberta.
