The Role: Summer Intern - Fixed Income Index Operations
The Location: Frankfurt, Germany.
The Team: The Index Management and Production Group (IMPG) is responsible for the maintenance, calculation and distribution of a wide range of indices covering global options, equities, futures, fixed income, commodity, digital assets and economics indices. This role will support the team responsible for Fixed Income Indices, in particular the range of global benchmarks produced under the S&P and iBoxx brands.
The Impact: This position provides an excellent opportunity for a candidate with Fixed Income market and Data Management interests and experience. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented candidate to support the Fixed Income Index Operations Group and work with team members around the globe.

You will be able to:

  • Apply your skills to real-world industry scenarios
  • Gain experience in communicating in a professional environment
  • Contribute to critical projects for maintaining and developing of S&P, Dow Jones and iBoxx-branded indices.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis using excel
  • Perform analytical research on securities and issuers
  • Managing index specific projects and deadlines
  • Create and update presentations for index committees
  • Utilizing various data vendor software to support the maintenance process of standard indices
  • Propose and help implement process improvements to realize enhanced quality and improve efficiency across S&P and iBoxx-branded indices

What We’re Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Engineering, Finance, Economics Mathematics or a related relevant field of study
  • Familiarity with financial markets and interest in Fixed Income markets and products
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills. Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of SQL, VBA, and other programming languages would be an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with different teams, senior members of the division and broader organization
  • Team player attitude is vital for the role. This includes giving and receiving constructive feedback, as well as a deadline-orientated approach to group projects
