The candidate will contribute to the discovery and evaluation of novel therapies by conducting laboratory experiments in the areas of virology and immunology. The selected candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Design and execute experiments, using immortalized cell lines or primary immune cells, to evaluate novel therapeutic strategies. Carefully document experimental methods and results. Attend team meetings and present results to the broader research team. Minimum Qualifications Pursuing a PhD or MS in Immunology, Virology, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience in immunology, virology, or a related field. Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the 12 week internship (May/June ~ August 2026). Potential to extend beyond August. Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible. Preferred Qualifications Experience with mammalian cell culture of both primary and immortalized cells, and use of these models in transfection or infection experiments. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of analytical techniques such as multi-parameter flow cytometry, isolation of immune cell subsets, and ELISpot. Experience with antibody-based staining and assays, such as ELISA or western blotting. Prior experience working with infectious agents under BSL-2 laboratory conditions.
