Your team The Foundation Architecture team at Bank Julius Baer is responsible for assessing enterprise-wide technology needs, defining target architecture blueprints, and enabling the agile, sustainable, and operable delivery of platform and infrastructure services. It champions simplicity, automation, and lean processes while reducing abstraction layers and integration overhead through reusable patterns and modern integration technologies. The team supports solution design in projects, fosters enablement via communities of practice, ensures holistic, ready-to-use service offerings, consolidates documentation, and measures architectural effectiveness using OKRs and KPIs. YOUR CHALLENGE Data analytics initiatives aimed at enhancing the foundational architectural repositories that support strategic planning and regulatory reporting. These include: Improve the completeness of Bank’s Interface Repository by applying heuristic analysis to detect reference gaps and cross-validating entries across systems of records, resolving discrepancies with IT Service Owners and Architects Assess interface design quality against integration best practices, focusing on aspects such as granularity and modelling consistency, and collaborate with Application Responsibles and Domain Architects to address identified issues Strengthen technology security by identifying systems with inadequate or outdated security profiles and working with responsible parties to define and document required hardening measures Support the Bank’s Application Portfolio lifecycle project by inventorying impacted technologies and information flows, and ensure accurate, fully traceable data migration through validation and robust architecture tooling support What to learn: Gain hands-on experience applying data-driven techniques and heuristics to enhance the accuracy and reliability of critical IT portfolio inventories Develop a practical understanding of the IT operating model within a global financial institution, including insights into managing complex systems and cross-functional collaboration Build essential communication and stakeholder engagement skills by presenting findings and recommendations to senior IT leaders, learning how impact is driven through both analysis and effective storytelling YOUR PROFILE Bachelor student from 2nd year onwards or enrolled Master student in the field(s) of [Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics] Initial practical experience in [Business Intelligence tools] and skills/knowledge in [IT Portfolio Management] is a plus [Passion for data analytics and data-driven decision making] Passion for wealth management and a desire to create value beyond wealth A global mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong appetite for learning Fluency in English, with additional languages being a plus Registered in the country of application with a valid work permit Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
