LEGAL INTERN — Summer 2026 Location: Memorial City (Houston, TX) — Full-Time, On-Site Only Program Dates: June 1 – July 24, 2026 (8-week commitment required) Compensation: Paid Internship Department: Legal Status: Competitive Internship — Real-world legal exposure and hands-on experience About the Internship MetroNational’s Legal Internship offers a structured, paid experiential learning opportunity for law students who are currently enrolled in and pursuing a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. This internship is designed to expose emerging legal talent to the diverse legal needs of a multifaceted real estate development, asset management, and operations organization. In alignment with the company’s internship program structure, interns will spend approximately 75% of their time supporting meaningful Legal Department work and 25% participating in company-wide programming, including cross-department exposure, job shadowing, site visits, and professional development. You will work alongside in-house legal professionals who uphold MetroNational’s values of Trust, Integrity, Impact, and Legacy, and contribute to the legal operations that guide and protect business decisions. This is a competitive internship designed to give law students a practical understanding of in-house legal practice—particularly within a real estate, corporate, and operational environment. What You’ll Do Assist with legal research, issue-spotting, and analysis across various areas of law relevant to MetroNational. Support in drafting, reviewing, or organizing contracts and agreements related to real estate, leasing, property management, marketing, technology, HR, and general business operations. Help prepare summaries, memos, or checklists related to compliance, policy updates, or contract workflows. Participate in internal meetings with legal counsel and cross-functional partners toobserve how legal issues influence business decisions. Assist with organizing legal files, documentation, amendments, and contractual correspondence. Conduct research into relevant statutory, regulatory, or case law affecting real estate, contracts, liabilities, workplace policies, or other assigned topics. Support special projects aligned with your indicated area of legal interest (e.g., contracts, real estate law, employment law, corporate governance, data/privacy, compliance). Present a final project summary outlining your contributions and key learning outcomes. Technologies & Tools You May Be Exposed To Contract management and document workflows Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) Legal research tools (based on department access) Internal collaboration, reporting, and document storage systems Requirements Required Qualifications Education & Training Pathways Candidates must meet all of the following criteria: Currently enrolled in and actively pursuing a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at an accredited law school In good academic standing (transcript or program record required) Ability to articulate your preferred area(s) of legal focus (e.g., contract law, real estate law, corporate governance, regulatory/compliance, employment law) Additional Requirements Must commit to full-time, on-site participation for the entire 8-week program (June 1 – July 24, 2026). Remote internships are not available. Applicants who cannot commit to the full program may be considered with lower priority. Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
