Position Summary Forward Edge-AI is seeking two Software Engineering Interns to support development of advanced technical platforms within the Advanced Research & Technology team. This role will focus on backend development, embedded interface support, and web-based management platform enhancements. Interns will contribute to coding, debugging, testing, and integration of software components supporting secure devices and management systems. The ideal candidate has a strong programming foundation and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Software Development * Assist with development of core software platform components * Contribute to backend services and API development * Support development of web-based management portal features * Write, test, and debug code in Python, C, and PHP Web & Interface Development * Support frontend development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript * Assist with integration between frontend and backend services * Enhance user interface functionality and performance Integration & Automation * Support integration between software components and system interfaces * Develop automation scripts and tools to improve development workflows * Assist in building scalable and maintainable system components Testing & Troubleshooting * Participate in testing and validation of software features * Troubleshoot and resolve software issues across the platform * Support debugging efforts across backend, frontend, and integration layers Documentation & Collaboration * Document development work, updates, and technical processes * Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams * Participate in team discussions and agile development activities Required Qualifications * Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field * Strong programming background * Experience with Python * Experience with C or C-based languages * Experience with PHP * Web development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) * Understanding of backend and frontend development concepts * Familiarity with Linux environments * Ability to work independently in a hybrid/fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications * Experience building APIs or backend services * Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) * Exposure to embedded systems or device-level software * Experience with debugging tools and development frameworks * Interest in secure systems, encryption, or communications platforms Core Competencies * Strong problem-solving and coding skills * Attention to detail and code quality * Ability to debug and troubleshoot effectively * Collaboration across engineering teams * Adaptability in a fast-paced environment Learning Outcomes * Hands-on experience developing backend and web-based applications * Exposure to real-world software integration and system-level development * Experience working across full-stack development environments * Development of debugging, testing, and documentation skills * Collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams Why Forward Edge-AI This internship offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge software systems within a mission-driven engineering environment.
