The Community Outreach & Resource Development Intern will play a vital role in supporting the Nisa Foundation’s efforts to engage with communities, build partnerships, and develop resources to sustain its programs. This role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit outreach and resource development, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable professional skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Community Outreach:

  • Conduct research to identify community needs, potential partners, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Assist in organizing and hosting community events, including logistics, promotion, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop outreach materials and resources to enhance community engagement efforts.

Resource Development:

  • Support the creation of proposals, grant applications, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Research potential funding sources, including grants, sponsorships, and donations.
  • Maintain a database of current and potential donors and partners.

Partnership Building:

  • Engage with local organizations, businesses, and stakeholders to build lasting partnerships.
  • Represent the Foundation at community meetings and events, acting as an ambassador for its mission and programs.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and partnerships.
  • Prepare progress reports and updates for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings and events.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from Communications, Social Work, or related programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in nonprofit management, community outreach, or fundraising.
  • Experience with graphic design or social media tools is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Urdu or Arabic is an asset.
    Eligibility

This position is part of the Canadian government’s summer job program.

  • Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or a protected person within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Able to provide a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
