JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a hardworking and motivated Summer Landscape Technician to join our dynamic landscaping team. This full-time position is focused on providing high-quality garden maintenance and installation services, with the opportunity to learn and develop landscaping skills. As a key part of our team, you’ll support the day-to-day operations, assisting with various landscaping tasks, and contributing to a positive team environment. Whether you’re an experienced landscaper or just starting out, we’re excited to help you grow your skills and knowledge in the landscape management field.
Requirements:
- High school diploma (landscape experience or education is an asset but not required).
- Must be physically capable of lifting 40+ pounds, using a wheelbarrow, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, from early mornings to late afternoons.
- Strong attention to detail and quality in all aspects of work.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to take direction and collaborate.
- Problem-solving skills to address and resolve on-site issues as they arise.
- Hardworking, self-motivated, and dedicated to continuous improvement.
- Must provide a valid G2 driver’s license and have daily access to personal transportation to get to/from job sites
Responsibilities:
- Perform garden maintenance tasks including cultivating, weeding, fertilizing, perennial care, and pruning to maintain high-quality standards.
- Participate in early morning team activities, including loading trucks and trailers, watering, and weeding plant inventory.
- Assist in setting up and cleaning up worksites, including sweeping and blowing debris at the end of the day.
- Operate small landscaping equipment such as backpack blowers, hedge trimmers, and other hand tools.
- Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and outdoor containers.
- Assist with garden construction activities such as digging, site preparation, planting, and mulching.
- Work with river rock, lay flagstone, and install armor stone as needed.
- Collaborate with team leaders and supervisors to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Follow on-site health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates.
- Use job management software (e.g., Jobber) to track time and provide updates as required.
- Continuously learn and expand your landscape maintenance and garden installation knowledge.
Other duties as assigned to support team goals and client satisfaction.
