Description The Lift Operator position is responsible for the safe operation of the chairlifts and conveyors while providing quality customer service during the summer operating season. Essential Function of the Job Assume responsible charge of the lift. Conduct all safety checks. Maintain a clean deck and ramp. Unload all Bikes from racks. Assist guests loading bikes into racks. Advise and assist guests using the lift. Maintain orderly passenger traffic within lift area. Immediately inform Lift Supervisor or Manager of any condition or occurrence which may adversely affect the safety of the operation. Check tickets and passes, and assist with any issues that arise Immediately inform Lift Supervisor of any condition or occurrence which may adversely affect the safety of the operation. Non-Essential Functions of the Job Maintain a clean and orderly work environment Assist in mountain rescue efforts, as necessary Perform other related tasks, as necessary Present a professional and positive image of the company while interacting with guests and other Bogus Basin employees Requirements Passionate about Bogus Basin’s Mission. Ability to stand, balance, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to safely lift a mountain bike above shoulder level, and roll one mountain bike in each hand off a moving carrier. Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and may be required to lift up to 35 pounds above shoulder level. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to work mid-May through mid-October. Ability to pass a background check. Working Conditions Majority of time spent in an outdoor environment Position is regularly exposed to inclement weather and direct sun. Vibration and noise are present in the work environment Personal Appearance When in the public eye, your personal appearance is an important part of the product we offer our guests. You should come to work neatly groomed and in uniform. In addition to the uniform jacket, lift operators need the following equipment: Black, tan or khaki pants or 6 inch or longer shorts. No denim. Sunglasses. Appropriate footwear to operate lift.
