Description Position: Summer Lift Operator Department: Lift Operations Hours: Variable NOTICE TO APPLICANTS: This is a seasonal position. The Summer 2026 season is tentatively scheduled to run from May 21, 2026 through September 27, 2026. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions and responsibilities may include, but are not necessarily limited to: Uphold and promote Core values of Silver Mountain: Responsibility, Quality, Value, Golden Rule, and Relationships Demonstrate best practices in workplace safety as outlined by the manager/supervisor, including compliance with all safety guidelines, procedures, and use of PPE. Identify and report all unsafe behaviors and/or conditions to the manager or supervisor. Perform operational and emergency procedures pertinent to assigned lift Advise and assist guests while promoting a positive guest experience Safely assist guests in loading and unloading lifts Maintain orderly guest traffic conditions within area of jurisdiction Maintain surveillance of assigned station Assist with the loading and unloading of bikes Stop the lift and notify your lead should a condition develop in which continued operation might endanger yourself or a guest Notify and advise the lead operator about changes in weather, ground, or snow surface conditions Set up and control maze area Prepare and maintain the loading and unloading zones Display professionalism and courtesy at all times Prevent fraudulent lift access, and follow company guidelines when dealing with fraudulent day and/or season pass usage Maintain lift shack cleanliness and organization (both inside and out) Maintain complete and accurate paperwork Perform tasks as assigned by the lead operator, supervisor, and/or manager Communicate current operational conditions to guests as needed Assist with crowd control and conflict resolution Provide excellent guest service as outlined in training. Requirements To succeed in this role, you must be: At least 18 years of age at the time of hire Friendly and outgoing, and enjoy working in a social environment Able to stand and work outdoors for prolonged periods of time in any weather conditions. (We work on top of a mountain...) Able to provide excellent guest service Able to communicate effectively with teammates and guests Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly and repeatedly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally Able to work effectively in a team environment Able to maintain a dependable attendance record Available to work weekends and holidays during the summer season
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain summer lifts while ensuring the safety of guests during loading and unloading. Provide high-quality guest service and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lift stations.
