Description Summer employees wanted to perform a variety of tasks necessary to accomplish the goals of the Public Works Department. The work requires more than usual physical strength and endurance, including the ability to lift heavy items and withstand extended exposure to the elements. Typical tasks include patching potholes, weeding flower beds, paint fire hydrants, read water meters, etc. Requirements High school diploma. Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License within 30 days of employment. Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions. Applicant must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program of study. Consideration will be given to Mount Prospect residents. HOURS: 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., some hours may vary. May 1 – Labor Day. STARTING RATE: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour For further information, contact Public Works at (847) 870-5640.
