Looking for a summer internship that’s equal parts fun, hands‑on experience, and real‑world marketing exposure? Join Freedom First as the face of our beloved Scoop ice cream truck and gain valuable skills in events, branding, and creative marketing. This temporary, part‑time internship is perfect for students who want to build their résumé, work directly with a professional marketing team, and make an impact in the community — all while serving up smiles (and ice cream). Application Deadline: April 17 Role: This is a temporary part-time internship position designed to provide support to the Event Specialist as the primary driver of Scoop ice cream truck while also being a brand ambassador of Freedom First. Time in the office will be spent supporting and learning about the Marketing Department through event and creative work. The individual must have a general understanding of the mission of Freedom First, be able to answer questions as necessary, and smoothly carry out events as a company representative. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: * (50%) Responsible for working Scoop events by thoroughly understanding each event's theme, purpose, and audience while adhering to Scoop operational standards and representing Freedom First professionally. Promote the Freedom First brand by demonstrating knowledge of FFCU products and services during Scoop interactions. * (30%) Support the Marketing Department with event work, creative work, and departmental collaboration as needed * (15%) Assist in managing the Scoop program operations, including placing ice cream orders, maintaining inventory, and coordinating communications with requestors. Supports essential Scoop logistics and administrative needs to ensure smooth service. (5%) Other duties as assigned. Performance Measurements: Must comply with government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry including, but not limited to, OFAC and the Bank Secrecy Act. Meets or exceeds performance expectations as described in Essential Functions and Responsibilities. Please refer to Annual Performance Goal document for remaining Performance Measurements. Knowledge and Skills: Experience: Experience working with customer service is preferred.  Education: - Currently working on a degree in Marketing, Event Management, or Business. - Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required.  Driving & Safety Requirements: Ability to safely operate and confidently handle large vehicles, maintain a satisfactory driving record with a point balance between positive 1 and 5, and meet the minimum age requirement of 21 for insurance purposes. Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.  Other Skills:     * Eagerness to learn, a can-do attitude, and an internal drive to excel in the marketing world is desired. * Effective relational, collaborative, and communication skills adaptable for all levels of the organization.  * Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; vary writing style to meet needs and audience; present numerical data effectively. * Excellent organizational and editing skills; typing skills utilizing Word at or above the 75 percentile in speed and 90th percentile in accuracy. Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and outlook skills level. Technical writing and presentation skills must be strong. Skill and ability to use and operate a keyboard (typewriter), computer, calculator, fax machine, copier and telephone. Skill and ability to read and understand financial statements, contracts, applications, computer printouts, manuals and other related materials. Daily work hours vary depending on event schedules (Monday through Friday, with the occasional Saturday).
