Summer Student HR-SS-2026-19 Job Title: Summer Outdoor Program Leader Date Posted: Friday, February 6, 2026 Department: Community Services Closing: 4pm, Friday, February 20, 2026 Location: Rotary Park/Dryden Recreation Complex Reports to: Recreation Coordinator Wage: $20.00 per hour with benefits as per the Employment Standards Act. Job Summary: The Summer Outdoor Program Leader provides a safe and fun environment for all participants of the Summer Outdoor Program, creating and implementing programs and activities that foster positive play environments. Reporting to the Supervisor of Community Recreation Programs, this position also performs administrative duties and positively promotes the program. This position will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Anticipated employment period for 10 weeks from approximately end of June to August 2026. Position Requirements: Must be 16 years of age or older on the first day of employment. Current First Aid/CPR Level C certificate, or ability to obtain before first day of employment. Mature, responsible person with ability to work alone without direct guidance. Previous experience working with children (babysitting courses, Co-op placements, coaching youth sports, camp counselor, etc.). The successful applicant will be required to obtain and submit a criminal background/vulnerable sector check at their own expense prior to start date.
