Description Verland is now accepting applications for a Summer Program Teacher to join the team at our Main Campus in Sewickley, PA. The Summer Program Teacher develops, implements (with the assistance of the Summer Aides) and supervises both Program and Direct Care Services for ID/D students attending the Verland Summer School Program. The Summer Program Teacher provides specialized care in the areas of perception, self-direction, adapted living skills, social skills, sensorimotor and communication. This is a temporary, hourly, non-exempt position. Shift Available: Full Time: 7am - 3:30pm Monday Thru Friday (June - August) Contributions: Work directly with the students in programmatic situations and monitoring their progress Supervise the performance of the Summer Aides and report disciplinary problems as necessary. Prepare necessary documentation and supervise the documentation of assigned staff. Attend all necessary meetings to ensure consistency of programming and communicating student progress. Provide escort services for students utilizing community resources and provide personal care for the students. Responsible for the development and implementation of weekly lesson plans, which include planning for community outings. Must have general knowledge of various disciplines and how they pertain to each individual, i.e. behavioral plans, CT, OT, etc. and ensure that all pertinent plans are being followed. Perform other job related duties as required.
