Description The Steadman Philippon Research Institute is known throughout the world for our research into the causes, prevention, and treatment of orthopaedic disorders. We are committed to solving orthopaedic problems that limit an individual's ability to maintain an active life. SPRI offers a limited number of summer research intern positions to advance its research mission and to provide a unique opportunity for research participation to future clinicians, scientists, and engineers. Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions (may vary depending on department): Preparing and conducting experimental lab procedures. Conducting literature reviews. Compiling research data, preparing presentations. Case reports and surgical technique papers. Maintain personal commitment to the Steadman Philippon Research Institutes Foundation’s mission and values. Maintain confidentiality of acquired information. Classification: Temporary employment of 8 or 10 weeks, non-exempt position. Requirements Current medical student or strong pre-med candidates preferred. Strong customer service interaction and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain effective working relationships. Well-developed administrative skills with a pro-active approach to organizing tasks. Participative approach to work.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include preparing and conducting experimental lab procedures, conducting literature reviews, and compiling research data for presentations. Interns may also be involved in preparing case reports and surgical technique papers while maintaining commitment to the institute's mission and values.
