Description About Krejci Academy: Krejci ("Kret-see") Academy is a therapeutic day school in Warrenville, IL, serving individuals on the autism spectrum ages 5 - 22 years. We are able to provide small class sizes that speak to students' individual needs. Each classroom is led by a Special Education Teacher with the support of a Teacher Assistant and one or more Paraprofessionals. General Summary: Support and assist Special Education Teacher in implementing a therapeutic classroom program reflecting the needs of the student as specified in the students Individual Educational Plan (IEP). Specifically: daily group/individual activities. recording observations, data collection, incident reports, and documentation of all students attendance, records and grading student work In the absence of the teacher, will assume leadership of classroom, maintain classroom organization and program implementation. Extended School Year (ESY) Program Schedule: Monday - Friday Thursday, June 4 - Wednesday, July 15 8:45am - 2:45pm *closed June 19 *closed July 3 Compensation: Starting at $21.50/hr License requirement (Little Friends can assist candidates with this process): Substitute license through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Must possess or be able to obtain an Illinois substitute teaching certificate. (reimbursable by Little Friends upon hiring) Lift 75 pounds and stand for periods of time. Minimum age of 19 years old.
Responsibilities
Support the Special Education Teacher in implementing therapeutic programs and Individual Educational Plans (IEP) for students on the autism spectrum. Responsibilities include conducting activities, recording data, and assuming classroom leadership in the teacher's absence.
