JOB SUMMARY

As a Summer Student as Cage Wash Clerk for our Toxicology team located at the Laval site, you will be responsible for the welfare of all our research animals. Your success will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our preclinical studies.

In this role, primary responsibilities include:

  • Wash study equipment (e.g., cages, toys, bowls) manually with a garden hose and using the industrial cage washer;
  • Put away clean equipment;
  • Wash study linens (e.g., cut-resistant gloves, sheets) using the industrial washer and dryer;
  • Perform cleaning tasks in the vivarium (e.g., sweeping, mopping the floor with the Zamboni);
  • Refill PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) stations;
  • Prepare animal enrichment.
Responsibilities

ROLE SPECIFIC INFORMATION:

  • Location: 445 Boul. Armand-Frappier, Laval, QC, H7V 4B3;

  • Transportation: Free parking. Near the Montmorency Subway. Electric vehicle charging station;

  • Salary: $18,25/hrs;
  • Premiums: Evening ($2.50), Weekend ($2.75), Overtime (Time and a half), Holidays (Double time);
  • Schedule: 37.5-hour work week with 7.5-hour days (e.g., 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., 10 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., or 1:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.). Depending on the company’s needs, you may be able to work weekend shifts;
  • Temporary position, full-time 37.5hrs during summer and 15 hours per week during the school period.
