Responsibilities

The Summer Student (CIHR Institute of Aging) will provide specialized support in the areas of administrative services, research services, infrastructure services, or student services. The incumbent will have responsibility for carrying out activities which require higher level specialization of skills. The incumbent will be responsible for providing support to faculty or staff, and for effectively carrying out a variety of tasks in accordance with policies, procedures, and instructions received from their supervisor. The incumbent will take guidance from their supervisor, and work productively and courteously with their work team and other members of the Western community. This Summer Student position is to review the history and impact of the CIHR-IA Summer Program in Aging in preparation for a 20-year anniversary symposium in 2026

The goal and purpose of this summer student position is to complete the following projects:

  • Update a 2018 report on the history and impact of the CIHR Summer Program in Aging (SPA).
  • Collect impact stories from past SPA trainees.
  • Interview past SPA hosts about the research capacity their training program has built.

Specific objectives/deliverables:

  • Complete an updated SPA impact report
  • Complete interviews with past SPA hosts and past trainees
  • Any other relevant work required by the CIHR Institute of Aging
