Overview Summer Placement Student Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Placement Student to join our team for approximately 3 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing the Annual Material Evaluation. This involves analysing measured data and performance to previous evaluation results and material datasheet properties. Morgan Advanced Materials is a business rich in history and innovation. Responsibilities Responsibilities Prepare and test ceramic material samples, conducting thorough evaluation to understand a range of mechanical and material data to ensure that production materials are to current datasheet specifications Presenting the data for analysis and making recommendations for conclusions and/or further work Compare current measured data with historical evaluation results and material data sheets to identify trends and discrepancies Prepare detailed reports summarizing the findings of the evaluations, including any issues or areas for improvement Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to prepare and accurately measure material properties Maintain organized records of all evaluations and associated data for future reference, creating a project report Adhere to a 6S method of working ensuring a well-organised, safe, neat and tidy working environment. Maintain laboratory equipment whilst completing project work. Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance on equipment within the Laboratory. Qualifications Qualifications and Skills Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program (e.g., Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in data analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently and as part of a team Interested in a practical hands-on role Prior experience with ceramic materials or in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required.
