The Mechanical Strength Analyses- team is located inside the Elevator Mechanics Tribe, all together we take care of the backbone of all our elevator products. Our job is to create the solid designs and reliable mechanical structures that are needed for high-quality elevators.
The strength analysis team is taking care of all calculations requested by our stakeholders that are needed for our high-volume elevators. The team composition and the relevant stakeholders are global and English is the company language. The work is distributed and managed with online tools, and we use online calls and meetings for daily discussions and collaborations.
We are now looking for a

SUMMER TRAINEE, STRENGTH ANALYST

to join our team in Espoo or Hyvinkää, Finland . We work in a hybrid way, face-to-face time will be necessary during the induction and onboarding period and whenever needed, otherwise some of the work can be done remotely.
We are looking for a student to work for 2-4 months during May to September 2025, based on availability and preference.

Responsibilities

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist calculation needs of the team by performing entry-level calculations
  • Develop calculation procedures/methods/documentation for selected components

IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Strength calculation studies, possibly close to graduation
  • Be familiar with basic analytical calculation of stresses, bolts, and welds
  • Be familiar with FEA calculation software, possibly Ansys
  • Positive energy and plenty of willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills needed to collaborate and explain to others
  • Good collaboration skills, ability to explain difficult concepts in simple works
  • Good social skills, to adjust the technical language based on what the situation requires
  • Relevant student activities, university projects, hands-on experience on this field are appreciated so do share those in your application as well
  • Our working environment is multicultural so English language skills is a must
