TITLE: SUMMER TRAINEE, TECHNOLOGY AND STARTUP SCOUTING, NEW VENTURES

We are now looking for a Summer Trainee for Technology and Start-up Scouting, New Technology Platforms team, New Ventures and Services Unit. The position is placed in Kemira’s Helsinki as hybrid but can be arranged as partly remote for the right candidate. Duration of the trainee period: 1st April till 31st October (with a optional hold in July or August)

• Support existing Technology Scouting activities with background research and evaluation of startup companies with renewable and sustainable chemicals for water treatment
• Start a new Technology Landscape campaign withing Kemira’s strategic growth areas (eg. Textiles, battery raw materials, nonwovens) by following previously used Technology Scouting Framework models
• Support further development to improve existing technology scouting framework and implement framework on other business areas of interest
• Conduct early-stage techno-economic and feasibility assessment of novel chemistries and technologies from start-up companies offering new sustainable solutions
• Collaborate closely with the Market Exploration and Development team in New Ventures & Services to create hypothesis-based Business Opportunity Proposals based on market research and identified technology start-ups
• Prepare and participate and in early-stage partnership development with start-up companies
• Engage with internal stakeholders to coordinate activities with Business Units and Research & Innovation
