Description
SUPERINTENDENT I – HEALTHCARE CONSTRUCTION Cleveland, OH At Elford, Superintendents aren’t just managing a site — they’re owning the build. If you’re a Healthcare Superintendent who takes pride in running a clean, safe, well-organized jobsite — and wants to work for a contractor known for doing things the right way — this could be your next move. We’re growing our Cleveland Healthcare portfolio, and we’re looking for Superintendents who know what it takes to build in active, highly regulated environments where planning, communication, and accountability matter every day. WHAT YOU’LL DO As a Superintendent at Elford, you’ll be the on-site leader responsible for turning plans into reality. You’ll: * Lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities for Elford crews and trade partners * Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for subcontractors, design teams, inspectors, and owners * Enforce Elford’s safety standards and regulatory requirements — safety is never negotiable * Build the work exactly as designed, reviewing plans and specs before work begins * Maintain a strong on-site presence, directing daily work and sequencing activities to keep projects moving * Drive the schedule — planning ahead, solving problems early, and keeping momentum on track * Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation in the proper sequence * Partner closely with the Project Manager on schedule planning, billing support, and subcontractor scope alignment * Maintain high standards for quality — and ensure any rework is corrected the right way * Supervise Elford field staff and on-site office support assigned to the project * Lead or participate in weekly job meetings and field coordination sessions * Attend monthly Field Operations meetings and ongoing company training WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR You bring experience, confidence, and calm leadership to the jobsite. * 10+ years in construction, with 5+ years in a Superintendent or Foreman role * Experience on Healthcare projects (active hospitals, renovations, complex interiors, regulated environments) strongly preferred * Trade school, apprenticeship, Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree — or equivalent hands-on experience * Strong understanding of safety, quality control, inspections, and healthcare compliance * Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with owners, trades, inspectors, and internal teams * Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive — you don’t wait for problems to show up * Comfortable using construction technology to manage daily work * Willingness to travel as needed for projects (primarily Cleveland and surrounding areas) * Commitment to continuous learning and improvement WHY ELFORD Elford has been building in Ohio for over a century, with a reputation for strong leadership, real teamwork, and lasting relationships. Our Superintendents are respected, supported, and trusted to run their jobs. This is a place where: * Safety is real, not just talked about * Superintendents have a voice * Quality and planning matter * Healthcare clients trust us with their most critical facilities If you’re a Superintendent who wants to build meaningful projects — and work with people who take pride in how the work gets done — we’d like to talk.
