As a member of the Civil team, the Superintendent will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various heavy civil projects which may include tunneling, highways, infrastructure, earthworks, and hydroelectric projects.
The Superintendent will report directly to the Project Manager/General Superintendent and will be responsible for the entire completion of construction projects.

As a Superintendent at EBC, your responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmonious relationships of the on-site staff;
  • Having thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the contract documents, each subcontract, the contract drawings, specifications and addenda, and to assist the Project Manager in the development of the on-site procedures;
  • Assisting the Project Manager in the development of the project schedule, and work with the Project Manager to keep schedules updates, and ensure the job meets the various milestones;
  • Planning and reviewing the site construction program with the Project Manager including quality control procedures, safety and environmental procedures, staging plans, equipment and manpower;
  • Coordinating with, directing, and monitoring the Field Engineer/Coordinator inspection activities of the subcontractors, suppliers and own forces;
  • Coordinating with, and directing when necessary, the activities of the inspection agencies, and to effect remedial actions if required;
  • Establishing and retaining necessary communications between subcontractors, consultants and clients;
  • Chairing weekly safety meetings and coordination meetings with own forces, subcontractors, agencies and clients;
  • Providing daily reports of work done and labour and material employed to the Project Manager;
  • Reviewing and approving all time cards, subcontractor’s monthly request for payment, material vouchers and invoices;
  • Maintaining good relations and communications with all involved in the project including public.
